The river of Armour

yeah, this is the river of armour. i drew this because i'm like armour stuff! so yeah, took some time and patience to finish this one, lots of lines there...haha!






Literal translation for the chinese words appear on the drawings.

'Everything will stop eventually, rewinds and goes back to mother nature.'

in other words...let it flow.

New Soul

finally. i'm back to this blog. i so wana update this blog...filled it up with many many paintings and drawings...but i failed to do so. haizzzzzzz....

this image just came to my mind...it sent chills down my spine.... hence, i decided to paint it out...at the same time, i'm trying to find out what my unconscious mind is trying to tell me.

a rebirth perhaps...devil unleashed perhaps. i dun noe. and i dun want to know...haha!







will draw or paint at least one more before i go back to the army. i need more time!

inspired not....

i'm basically forcing myself to churn out some drawings. nothing really sparks my brain to motivate/inspire me to draw. but...theres one thing that pushes me...self-discipline. its like..."You have to draw today. Just draw something! biatch!"...then i sit my ass on my comfy armchair, picked up my pencils...and just draw!

maybe that can be my motto. JUST DRAW!

the result is more than satisfying for me.




this is the War Song. it's not a song, more like a poem maybe. it started out as me doodling myself. then i wana point a big third finger. then, got inspired to use this pose to express my thoughts and feelings about war. i won't get to do this piece if i didn't move my pencil.



then i tried to force myself to draw again the next day. this time, i only have one objective- free my mind. no specific topic to draw...then i just let my pencil run freely...i'm playing with my lines...and realised i'm generating something organic...so i started to complete it by drawing a creature out of it. (I started from the head of this creature.) named it FYMA, derived from "free your mind art". well, this creature is strangely beautiful to me. haha! (used PSCS2's filter)



the next day after i did FYMA, i forced myself to draw again. i'm not interested to copy any reference material...cos its not very fun. therefore, i jus told myself...draw something "lovely".
during the drawing process, i'm trying to have fun with lines...attempts to interact with the lines while i draw....kk, getting abstract already.

lesson learnt: free your mind and just draw. it's just magic for me. haha!



lastly, i took part in THINKOUT! a drawing event held by the Artheletes gang.
the topic is "Penguin's solution to flight."
the idea is not unique...but i'm glad that i took part in the event. i guess i failed to explore the topic enuff...and just go ahead to render this piece. my bad...

creative ideas propels artist to generate art works.
it also means that...generating art works propels creative ideas.

I'm going to serve the army on 10th July 2008. Feeling quite calm right now. I realised that i didn't fulfil some of my short term goals b4 entering NS(National Service)....for example, write a script, draw at least a page of comic etc.
Now, i'm still at the stage of exploring my art style and learning more techniques...so i guess i shall jus focus on drawing and painting for the time being. Personal content creation shall begin next year? LOL...we'll see about it.

Hope that i can post one more b4 i enter NS...

conquering girls in the world of art.

oh yea, here's my practise on drawing and painting females. it's extra difficult for me to draw and paint girls...will overcome this obstacle slowly :)

i wana add on.... i got the drive to draw and paint girls becos i want to start doing my own comic/illustration book asap....hence, i gotta nail down this part or my 'lead actress' will look like a man...hahaha!~

yeah, i always wanted to do some robot running ard the city...and now i sorta did one for myself. wasn't able to achieve e way i picture this painting...i wana more 'Hong Kong' feel actually...with sign boards all ard...but becos i didn't plan this pic b4 doing it...i failed to put in stuff tat i wana be there. e killer is the error in perspective...i wana kill myself for that...

i sorta design this robot as i paint...'construct' the city as i paint...And that is a pain in the ass...wasted a lot of time....i guess i need to get some line work b4 i go 4 a more detailed pic like this one the next time....

the first pic is e final one...while e second pic is achieved thru minor tweaking in Hue/Saturation.

ya, i used textures to paint those buildings at the back...i jus hate painting them...lol!
